Most of the watches are made of steel or titanium, and the higher end is made of gold. The precious metal of silver seems to be relatively rare. But this time, Zenith was against the trend and launched a special silver version of the Pilot Type 20 special edition.
This is the first watch released by Zenith for this year’s Basel show warm-up and is the brand’s first silver watch. The diameter of the watch is 45mm, the case and dial are made of silver, and the dial has a rivet-like texture. The inspiration should be from the skin of the old plane. Its hands, time scales, and crowns have been specially processed to increase the size. With the large diameter of 45mm, the whole watch looks very tough.
On the back of the watch, there is also a pattern of old-fashioned airplanes, which is very flavorful. Loaded with the Zenit Elite 679 automatic movement, it is stored for 50 hours.
The biggest point of this watch is the use of silver materials. The look and feel of silver are relatively low-key and warm, and like bronze, it is swatch for some retro style works. With the aesthetic fatigue of ordinary materials (such as steel or gold), there may be more and more silver watches in the future. This time, Zenith is a good start.
The watch is expected to be available in late April this year, with a limited edition of 200 pieces and a price of about 52,000 yuan.
